Based on Experience and Negotiations with Personnel Committee
Paid Time Off:
15 days per fiscal year. All vacation days must be approved in advance by the Personnel Committee. Included Paid Time Off Holidays: The 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Memorial Day. (Additional dates and time off to be negotiated with Personnel Committee)
Office Hours:
Office Hours – 9:00 am – 5:00 pm weekly
Qualifications:
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or 10 years nonprofit employment.
- Experience with nonprofits and proven fundraising required.
- Proficient in oral, written communication, and public speaking.
- Basic grant research & writing skills
- Proficient in digital software: Microsoft Office, Google Suite. Applicant must also be willing to become proficient in the Foundation’s CRM Software for Nonprofits (NEON CRM).
- Ability to work well with a wide array of community partners, political leaders, students, faculty and administration with awareness of business and electronic etiquette.
- Familiarity with proper meeting protocol, following established operational procedures such as board orientation, meetings, preparing agendas and correspondence.
- Ability to work very independently day to day, and in a team environment for events and other aspects of community service.
- Actively participates in relevant training and meetings with pertinent non-profit communities (Oklahoma Center for Non-Profits, Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence, Oklahoma City Community Foundation and both the Moore Chamber of Commerce and)
- Must uphold brand integrity at all times. This includes social media, written publications, and some personal engagements.
- Learn new things and be reactive to changes within the position.
- Experience in events management, sponsorship management, volunteer management, and other aspects of nonprofit fundraising events
Preferred Job Duties:
- Basic knowledge around Quickbooks and other financial software
- Basic graphic design skills – more specifically on Canva.com
- Knowledge of basic marketing fundamentals
- Ability to audit and recommend changes to website
- Basic knowledge of the public school system in Oklahoma, and more importantly Moore Public Schools
Essential Job Functions:
Fundraising (60%)
- Expand the Foundation’s revenue base by identifying and capturing other sources of revenue while continuing to nurture the engagement and participation of its longstanding partners with the expectation of year after year growth.
- Continue the success of major events with expectations of year after year growth.
- Assisting the Board with identification & solicitation of individual and corporate prospects to maximize program and event sponsorship.
- Supervising and maintaining accurate records of all fundraising activities, donor gifts and special event sponsors.
- Submit grant requests and necessary grant reports. Grants should be written based on needs within the district and the director must work with Moore Public School officials to identify those needs.
- Work with the board to produce and execute all aspects of an annual budget.
- Develop relationships with donors by providing follow-up and ongoing communications.
- Collaborate with the district Superintendent and others from the Moore Public School leadership team to identify district funding priorities.
- Thank you notes and Tax Receipts are imperative to fundraising and best practices should be followed.
Administration (15%)
- Attend continuing education courses for grant writing, computer programs, nonprofit education, and other professional development trainings that would benefit the Foundation.
- Manages the electronic Foundation communication, webpage, publications, Neon CRM, Email Communications, GiveSmart OKC profile, or other programs.
- Manage, maintain and oversee the Foundation finances including, but not limited to, checking account for general operations and endowment account development to sustain the Foundation.
- Maintain office and software systems to support all development projects and program operations, including Foundation’s fundraising database.
- Professional standards for all correspondence with community members, district employees, donors, and anyone else communicating with the organization.
Board Relations (10%)
- Work with the relevant Committees and Board members to develop, monitor and communicate the organization’s annual and long-term plans in reaching the Foundation’s goals.
- Plan and prepare reports, agendas, and minutes for all board and committee meetings
- Help define the priorities and develop teamwork among board members, staff, volunteers and District leadership.
- Communicate with the Board for scheduling, planning and coordinating monthly board meetings as well as committee meetings. This includes timely preparation of and publication of meeting agendas and minutes of all relevant meetings.
- Prepare a written report of all activities for each Board meeting.
- Bi-weekly meeting with the board president so they are are made aware of the day to day business of the Foundation
- Work with the treasurer of the Board to review and monitor financial reports and monthly financial statements, including the development of the annual budget and collection of necessary data and reports needed for audits and yearly tax return forms.
Community Engagement (15%)
- Develop and produce communications (brochures, marketing materials, press releases, website, videos, etc) to educate the community about the mission of the organization as well as particular special events and services.
- Make presentations in and around the community to create awareness of the Foundation’s impact on education and to obtain potential donor relationships.
- Maintain open lines of communication with community organizations for partnership opportunities. (Moore Rotary, The Sparrow Project, Moore PTA, Moore Chamber of Commerce, South Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce and others)
